Half marathon organized by two students

Mads Munk Skovsby and Kristian Tarillon from IBA Erhvervsakademi Kolding organized the Campus Kolding Run with funding from Campus Kolding!

On Sunday, June 9th, the marathon season was officially kicked off in the Campus area with the Campus Kolding Run. The run was conceived and organized by students in collaboration with the student association Campus Sport and supported by Campus Kolding's Campus Fund.

Mads and Kristian handled the coordination, marketing, and contact with partners and sponsors themselves.

Do you also have a great idea for an event, workshop, meeting place, or something completely different? You can apply for up to 5,000 DKK from the Campus Fund!

Free Event for Students

A total of 68 students from Kolding's four higher education institutions signed up for one of the four distances: 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km.

It turned into a celebration with cheering squads, DJ music, prize ceremonies, and great vibes – despite a rainy afternoon!

A Dream Became Reality

Mads and Kristian initially envisioned the Campus Kolding Run as a break from the exam period.

"Most students are busy with their exams, but it's important to take a break, move your body, and think about something else," says Kristian.

Mads adds: "We both wanted to participate in a half marathon, but on a student budget, we quickly realized that the entry fees were too high. So, we decided to organize our own run with free participation, offering a chance to take a break from exams."

The two boys didn’t get the chance to participate in the half marathon themselves, as they were busy with the day's preparations, but they both hope that the run will become a regular event in collaboration with Campus Sport.
